Northstar Ski Trail Condo-2 bedroom, Dog Friendly

3 night minimum for holiday weekends (Thanksgiving, MLK, President's).

This ski in/ski out 2 bedroom condo with 2 baths has a king in the master, 2 twins in the guest room plus a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Walk 1.5 blocks across parking lot to ski trail.

This property offers access to the Northstar Recreation Center; ($10 per person/per day). The Recreation Center offers several outdoor Jazuzzi’s, a well-equipped expansive workout room, a game room with pool tables, air hockey, video games and much more. In the summer, guests will also enjoy the Junior Olympic size swimming pool, kiddie pool, lap pool, kid’s camp, play area and the Snack Shack......FREE shuttle to Village and Rec Center from parking lot.

Winter activities at Northstar Resort include the new Lookout Mountain offering acres of new terrain for skiers and snowboarders including a Terrain Park and Super Pipe. There is a cross-country center, snow tubing park, ice skating rink, restaurants, bars, retail shops, equipment rental shops and licensed daycare.


Summer activities include a champion 18-hole golf course and golf pro, tennis courts, tennis pro available for lessons, rolling skating rink, mountain bike trails including chair lift to take you to the top and equestrian center with great trails for horseback riding.


Our Guests are only minutes away for North Lake Tahoe where you can go boating, jet skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, parasailing, mountain biking, hiking, shopping, fishing, sightseeing or just enjoy relaxing at the Lake watching the kids skip rocks.

North Shore Casinos are about 10 minutes away for gambling, dining and listening to fun music.

  We had a very comfortable stay at #4096 Coyote Trail at NorthStar at Tahoe last month. The condo was clean, comfortable, quiet, and well maintained. I particularly liked the access to the superb NorthStar Property Owners Recreation Center with its three pools, jacuzzis, and well equipped workout rooms. NorthStar was a convenient base to explore Donner Pass, Donner Lake, Truckee, the Martis Meadows Wildlife Area, the Truck River Regional Park, and Squaw Valley. We enjoyed seeing the start of the Tahoe Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race on July 17. I would return in a heartbeat. We also appreciated being able to stay there with our Golden Retriever.

  the property and location was great. It was hot during out stay, so we wanted to be at the pool or lake, which provided challenges.
  The pool required online reservations to limit attendees due to C-19, and it was very hard to find available times on the weekend as it was fully subscribed already by the time we received the information. The Northstar property required masks which we really appreciated.
  Going to the lake was a different story- very few people wore masks and social distancing was not enforced - scary and we didn't feel safe at the lake so opted for hiking on the Northstar property instead, which was great!

  Our family of four (plus our small dog) enjoyed our stay. The pictures don't due the condo justice. It was much nicer than we imagined. It was clean and the location was perfect! We were in town for the Enduro bike series as our teens were racing. I wanted something close - I could walk from the condo to the village in five minutes. We were close to food, drinks, entertainment, and the small store. On their bikes, our boys were ate the village and gondola super quickly.
  
  I called the property manager before and during our stay with questions and they were answered promptly. Very much appreciated! We were also super grateful that our dog could stay with us!!

  We had a terrific time at this Condo. The location is great - 1.5 blocks to Condo Trail. Kitchen and utensils are in good shape. Beds are foam and keep you warm. We did not bring our lab up this time but will keep that in mind next time.

  The condo was a treat for us - a ski in ski out for our first trip of the season and it did not disappoint. The beds and furnishings were comfortable and the location perfect. Two things for improvement - the upstairs bedroom was not naturally warm and we had to rig up a standing fan to get warm air up there and the kitchen needed basics like sugar, oil, etc. there was nothing there but salt and pepper. Really great places have at least some basics and some even provide coffee etc. one other small complaint - I didn’t get a lockbox code till I asked for it, but thankfully someone answered the phone after hours. Could have been disastrous!!

  The property was located right on the mountain at Northstar. Ski In/out at northstar can require walking - anyone who has been here knows that. You do have to walk across the parking lot to get to the run. It's very convenient to ski or walk down to the village. The unit is on the top floor, so there are a lot of stairs, but who couldn't use a little extra exercise these days? Only bit of caution -
  There should be a parking permit on the counter when you check in, if there isn't, call the property manager. We almost got towed because we didn't have the permit.

  Due to the storm hitting Friday, Vacay let us check in early to avoid driving in the snow. The place was great for 2 couples. It's a short (10 minute) walk to the Northstar Village. And you can ski back to the parking lot for a quick walk back to the condo.

  My family rented this condo for a long weekend of snowboarding. The condo has a nice layout. Plenty of space for our family of four and our two little dogs. I love the fact that the place is dog-friendly, but also clean, no pet smells! It is a very short walk to the Gondola, making it extremely convenient to hit the slopes early and to get to the village at the end of the day for dinner, shopping, movies, etc. We also took advantage of the recreation center, which was well equipped and also easy to access. The kitchen has plenty of supplies from pots and pans, to baking ware and utensils. I would definitely book this condo again in the future.
  
  Here are my complaints, just as a heads up for those coming in the future. Both bathrooms had conditioner but no shampoo. I had to go to the village to buy some after being caught unaware in the shower on the first day and having to resort to hand soap. Next time I would bring my own. The kitchen, although well stocked in terms of supplies to cook with and eat on, was missing some key items. There was a coffee maker but no filters. I was not going to buy filters for a maker that was not mine, so we used paper towels as filters. That worked. Also, there was no dish-washing detergent; although, the instructions say to start the dishwasher when you check out. I believe people have been running the dishwasher with no soap for some time because most of the bowls, glasses and mugs were coated with stuck on flecks of food and scum. I had to go to the village to buy dish-washing detergent in order to properly clean the dishes. So, bring your own!!

  We usually shy away from the Ski Trails condos because we find them to be pricey and generally old, but this was the exception. The condo was clean, recently updated, quiet and comfortable. My kids complained about the squeaky beds but they slept fine after all that skiing. The shared washer/dryer was just a few steps away from the condo, clean and easy to use. The dryer was nice for drying some of our wet ski clothes. The kitchen had the basics, though as usual, we did brought our own kitchen knives. About the ski in-ski out....well it was more like walk 3-5 minutes carrying your skis and then ski. We had a giant snow storm while we were there and there was still some walking to be done. But it was certainly easier than skiing to the village and then taking the shuttle. Overall, we had a great stay and would stay there again.
